Over time, this inverted triangle blade is repeatedly exposed to driving pressure, pressure applied by the wiper arm, and continuous day–night temperature changes. As a result, the blade tip gradually becomes compressed and deformed.
Once deformed, pressure is no longer evenly applied during operation, making it difficult to remove contaminants cleanly. In addition, the widened blade tip can hinder smooth reversal during wiping, which may lead to noise and chattering.

In contrast, KIMBLADE square wipers are developed with a rectangular blade profile based on a 4-bar linkage structure, combined with a special silicone material.
This structure is designed so that the edge of the blade makes contact with the windshield during operation, allowing force to be concentrated at the edge for efficient contaminant removal. It also enables fast and smooth reversal during wiping.

Wipe the blade surface with a soft wet tissue or a damp cloth to remove any residue. If oil film or dust remains on the windshield, it is recommended to clean the glass as well.
After cleaning, operating the wipers for a short period to allow the water-repellent effect to form on the windshield can also be helpful.

With this basic care, wiping performance can be kept more consistent over time.

Hydrophilic and water-repellent properties describe the difference in how water behaves when it comes into contact with a glass surface.

A hydrophilic surface causes water droplets to spread out and wet the glass evenly.
Immediately after the wiper operates, visibility may appear relatively clear. However, as raindrops gather again, they can refract light and cause visual distortion.

A water-repellent surface causes water to bead into round droplets instead of spreading out.
This helps prevent raindrops from blurring the view during rain and contributes to more stable visibility.
It also helps keep the glass cleaner by reducing the buildup of oil film that may form during driving.

In short, hydrophilic surfaces cause water to spread, while water-repellent surfaces cause water to bead.
Because of this difference, the way visibility is maintained during rainy driving conditions also differs.

Be careful not to drop the wiper arm when replacing it as the fall may crack the windscreen.
Wear gloves when replacing the wiper to prevent injuries.
Use soft cloth to remove any hardened foreign substances such as a sticker, resin, bird excreta, or sharp frosts, instead of using the wiper. Such an action may scratch the silicon blade, causing it to have stripes.
Do not apply water repellent coating substances (wax, water repellent coating washer fluids and others), chemicals, films, etc. Such an action may cause noise or rattling sounds of the wiper.
Clear off dust or sand granules accumulated upon the blade with wet tissues or soft cloth when noticing that the wiping performance gets considerably weakened. If such an action does not have any considerable effect, operate the wiper to apply automatic water repellent coating substances.

Dry Wiping is the process of operating the wipers on a clean and completely dry windshield for about 3 to 5 minutes after installation.
This process helps form an initial water repellent layer on the glass surface, allowing the wipers to move more smoothly and helping reduce potential noise or vibration during operation.
Dry Wiping is recommended when the windshield is in a hydrophilic state. For best results, we recommend removing any oil film first to restore the glass to a clean hydrophilic condition.
When Dry Wiping is performed immediately after oil film removal, a temporary friction sound may occur at the beginning. This can happen while the initial water repellent layer is being formed. Once the coating settles, the noise gradually decreases and operation becomes smoother.

The hazing effect refers to a temporary cloudy appearance on the windshield caused by very fine water droplets remaining on the glass during wiper operation.
This phenomenon may occur especially when there is only a very small amount of rain, and it typically disappears within a few seconds.Hazing can be observed with wipers that have a water repellent function.
